About

Why Does the About Page Showcase Just One Person?

I’m Dawn Weathersbee, and I am a content strategist. That means I develop core messaging that aligns with your target markets’ wants, needs, and online platforms of choice. While I am brilliant at making people feel a connection, I am not an all-knowing, all-powerful creative. The good news for you is, I LOVE MANAGING CREATIVES.

Why Am I a Strong Content Strategist?

I love stories and I love people. As a literature student and teacher, I deeply studied story telling. As a case manager for at-risk youth, I trained in counseling methods and conflict resolution. My background in education, counseling, and case managment gave me the skills to dive deep and find the real solutions to my client’s content marketing needs.

Why Am I a Strong Manager?

I also learned to manage people and organize a huge amount of data from working in education. I learned very quickly how to organize people, data, and things, so I could manage students, parents, administrators, lesson planning, grading, field trips…and so much more. This skillset enables me to manage creatives, assistants, and client content calendars.

How Have I Learned to Build and Support Strong Teams?

I also have strong team building skills because I love working on talented teams. When I worked at Firelight Foundation as a fundraiser, I worked with the Executive Director, the Programs team, the Communications team, the Finance team, the HR team and the Community Organizations we funded. I also managed donor and prospect communications, as well as recruited and trained in-house volunteers and interns. At Firelight I learned to get the information I needed from multiple stakeholders in order to create the best promotional materials possible. You have to be a team player to keep a machine like that running. The best team players are also team builders.

Read more about me from my clients and subcontractors who tell you what they love about working with me, and how my background made me good at what they love about my work.

A curious listener

“Dawn’s curiosity is her strongest skill. What spins off of that is her ability to dive into your business to find out what is an ideal customer for you. That brings a lot of clarity to what you messaging should be.”

– José García, Cabéza Advertising

“Dawn listens to the client. Not everyone listens to the client. She listens clearly enough so she can ask follow-up questions and get a really good idea what our company is about. I was very impressed with that. I’ve worked with a lot of marketing companies and she is the first one who really asked the questions.”

– Dean Siracusa, Summer Hawk Optics, Inc.

An Organized Individual

“Dawn’s organized. She took good notes and returned emails with things we talked about and even though I only see her in person once a year, she’s very organized and communicative and follows up to keep on track.”

– Goldi Jacques Maynes, Golden Chiropractic

“In every occasion Dawn and I have worked together she was prepared, professional and enthusiastic. On a mutual client project, for instance, she had all the messaging organized and ready for me to use for my part – and it was truly excellent quality. She was also my support system with that client, helping to guide my own progress. Meanwhile, when she was my own client, Dawn was passionate throughout the process and clear when she appreciated what I was doing.”

-Jessica Warren, Founder, Hey Jess

A Team Builder

“Dawn is a team builder. I respect Dawn’s judgment on people, and when she brings someone into a project or recommends someone to me, I trust her judgment on it.”

– Shelley Delayne, Orange Coworking

“She is tenacious. Among all the skills that she has, another is project management. Her job is to push this project from beginning to completion. I was bad at replying to approval requests from her. She stayed on top of it with pleasant persistence. When I would apologize, she would say no apology necessary, part of my job is herding cats and getting a consensus on something and pushing it forward. She is a lovely person, very pleasant, she is amusing, she has a fantastic sense of humor.”

– José García, Cabéza Advertising
